i'm not normally one to get hyped about upcoming games unless they're pro evo. however, this video about maxis' upcoming spore has got me very excited. yes, it could be a bit dull, but it could also be quite incredible if it delivers on the promises.

have you ever read star maker by olaf stapledon? i doubt it. hardly anyone has. but Spore seems to me like a gaming adaptation. and that's the greatest book ever written.

this could be big.

admittedly, it could be shit, too, but even the chance of that it could be a defining piece of software gets my juices flowing.
